176cm (5'9"), confident posture, short bright yellow hair, blue eyes, particularly long bottom eyelashes. Raiga has rotting, cold purple flesh from his left shoulder down to his fingers. This is referred to as a Dead Point, and he has had this since birth. The arm could be removed and reattached, but this isn't preferred. At all.
Raiga has a scowling resting face. He typically wears dark colors paired with bright accents, and often wears necklaces. When dressing up, he might be seen with studs and spikes on his clothes, small earrings, and light makeup.
He's usually seen with an old twisted shimenawa rope around his waist, which secures a knee-length bit of dark camo cloth to him. This is a keepsake from Kakeru.

Rude. Abrasive. Standoffish. Dedicated. Passionate.
While he can be polite to those that he respects, Raiga typically approaches people rudely and dismissively. He's quite terrible at being straightforwardly supportive and cloaks his care in sharp words.
At his core, he is a man split between traditional and modern concepts and values. On one hand, Raiga is a typical teen moving into his early adulthood—feisty, free, unwilling to let authority push him down. On the other, he was raised around his grandparents for much of his life and carries some traditions close to heart. Raiga adores yosakoi-style music and dance and wants to maintain his family's sake brewery passed down through the generations.
Part of this adoration for yosakoi comes from his mentor, Kakeru, teaching him about it from a young age. After Kakeru's transformation into a Zendead, Raiga was left with the burden of carrying on his legacy and leading Yona. He's easily tied down by duty and responsibility, but he does his best to turn it into something that reflects his views and ambitions, not anyone else's.

Raiga is an Influencer Handead. As a Handead, he recovers from sickness and injury slower, ages slower, needs to eat and sleep less than normal humans, and feels emotions more strongly. He's prone to feeling so strongly that he reaches a fever pitch and loses control of himself. This emotional meter is referred to as a Dead Level. When reaching a particularly high amount of Dead Level, he releases pheromones that attract bee-like creatures called Crazy Bees. Two stings from them and he turns into a Zendead, a mindless zombie.
Because he is an Influencer, Raiga can bite others to turn them into fellow Handead. He can also temporarily weaken or break Aliver brainwashing with his voice and singing. The extent depends on how long an Aliver exposes themself to his voice. Additionally, as an Influencer, he feels an instinctual desire to perform and sing.

HANDEAD ANTHEM is extremely niche both in EN and JP communities, so I figured it'd be a good idea to give a minimal amount of information on the canon.
Preceding the current canon year 21xx, dictators used to control the world. The people under their reign were brainwashed, forming them into nothing more than emotionally dead workers called Alivers. After the fall of these dictators, half-dead and half-alive humans called Handead appeared. They were free from the brainwashing and were able to feel strongly and enjoy living again.
Handead are split into two different types: Influencers and Alivers turned Handead. Influences are born Handead, are able to break the chains of brainwashing with their voice, and can bite Alivers to turn them Handead. All other Handead must be turned through Influencer bites or injections.
Handead can also turn into fully dead beings, Zendead, by being stung twice by Crazy Bees. Zendead have no control or awareness; they are simply shells of their former selves. Crazy Bees are attracted to the pheromones Handead release when they get emotional, and each sting leaves a camellia shaped mark.
Raiga is part of an organization in Japan called DEAD & ALIVE (DAA) that was formed after the fall of the dictatorship. He is the leader of the Kochi branch and works towards turning Alivers Handead. Currently, about 50% of Japan is Handead, but the numbers of Handead are significantly less in other locations across the globe.
